Sybil Ansbacher

Sybil Ansbacher, Liaison the Board of Library Trustees as of October 1, 2016, has served on BOLT since 2009. An active member of the community, Sybil is a board member of the Friends of the Beaches Library and Beaches Watch, Inc. She has served as chair of the City of Neptune Beach Board of Appeals; chair for several studies of Jacksonville Community Council, Inc.; City of Jacksonville HUD Advisory Board; Community Development Block Grant Committee chair; State Board of Pharmacy member; Women’s Giving Alliance. She has been a resident of Neptune Beach for more than 30 years.

Sybil is a retired licensed mental health counselor with Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from Nova University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Florida. She worked for 12 years for the Youth Crisis Center at the Beaches Resource Center in various positions, including director of the Beaches Truancy Center. She and her late husband, Lewis, donated the map collection and resources to found the Morris Ansbacher Map Room on the fourth floor of the Main Library. The Ansbacher Map Room is named in honor of Lewis’s father.
